Всемирный Центр Бахаи, 25 апреля 2018 г., (BWNS) — Около 1300 делегатов, представляющих более 160 стран, прибыли в Хайфу для участия в 12-м Международном съезде бахаи.
Международный съезд — уникальное событие, которое проводится каждые пять лет в Хайфе, в административном и духовном центре мировой общины бахаи. Делегаты представляют практически все нации и народности планеты. Во время съезда они участвуют в серии совещательных сессий и избирают международный руководящий орган Веры, Всемирный Дом Справедливости.
Совещания на Международном съезде, как правило, посвящены развитию Веры и вкладу, который делают общины бахаи в процветание общества. Одна из основных тем обсуждения — каким именно образом принципы учения Бахауллы,— например, единство человечества, равенство женщин и мужчин, гармония науки и религии и независимое исследование истины,— находят свое выражение в разных социальных условиях и различных культурных реалиях, от самых отдаленных деревень до крупных городских центров.
Делегаты, участвующие в Международном съезде этого года, — члены ежегодно избираемых руководящих советов бахаи своих стран. Эти институты, известные как Национальные Духовные Собрания, направляют и поддерживают деятельность общины бахаи в пределах своей юрисдикции.
29 апреля делегаты соберутся вместе, чтобы избрать девять членов Всемирного Дома Справедливости, — это одновременно и священный долг, и привилегия делегатов.
